Yes!!! I can see!!!

Hello friends :)

Nothing new but I have been terribly poorly the last two weeks, still have pneumonia and then I some how got full blown flu on top!! I know such bad luck!! With me being quite poorly I could not stitch much as it strained my eyes.. I had my eye prescription updated and now have my glasses back!! Ha ha the optician explained to me that I now have 'old eyes' !! I need a pair of glasses to see far distances and also a pair to see close up too! So the photo are of my close up ones, they have a special tint in them so I can read better off white things... Helps with my dyslexia.  With me being poorly they have sat in the opticians for weeks, I had to collect them to make sure they were right and did not need adjusting.  As it happens they were just fine when I put them on! Oh and it's great as now I can see again! Ha ha

I have been doing a few little things that did not need much concentration, but you all know what it's like when your feeling poorly... Just can't be bothered!! But I did try and be bothered as I love to make things...here is what I have been up to...

I w a really nice design in one of my magazines for English Paper piecing so this is what I tried...

As you can see from my phone next to the pieces, it's a small design!  The little squares are 1 cm and the hexies fit to it.

Choosing fabrics! omg!! Yes I love feeling fabrics, got a thing about them lately! This is what I eventually chose!

Then off I started...

Opted for a random look... Ha ha I found this quite difficult if I am honest.  I literally had to close my eyes and choose one out of the pot! Han thought it all rather funny that I was having difficulty understanding the whole random thing.  See at first I thought well as long as two colours did not touch that is still random! But it's not!! This is why I ended up closing my eyes and just picking one out!

Han thought this looked like a turtle!

It's starting to grow...
I love how it's coming together.

I love how the back looks.

And this is where. I am now,..

I love it!!
And I kept getting asked... What is it going to be?! Ha ha well I am just making it! Lol we shall have to wait and see!!

What else have I been up to?.......

I had an idea, the fragmin boxes I use a lot of ha ha for the daily injections I have to have... To stop me getting more blood clots.  Well it's actually really good card, so thought I would use them for templates for EPP!!

I did try to do some cross stitch, and thought seeing as it was just lines I would be ok?? Hmm appeared not! Ha ha!! Thankfully I have my glasses back now so will be able to catch up.

Here is where I am with the Prairie Schooler design called A Prairie Garden...

And sad to say not much progress without glasses on the Scarlet Letter Mary Gail design either :(. Well it is 45 count linen!! And with no glasses impossible!!!

I love the colours of this and cannot wait to pick up my needle and thread again :)

You all know I love experimenting and trying new things... I saw a lovely freebie design by a lovely lady called Lori in one of the FB groups I belong to.  I thought I would try a bit of applique, I have done it with felt before and loved it.  I would ideally love to try with wools... Soon maybe? So as I have cotton fabrics I thought I would use them.  I made the design slightly smaller, I did this as I was not actually sure if I could do it and it was more achievable, to finish... I thought!

So here is what I made... I have a lot to learn! I did enjoy it though.

Finally I thought I would show you all what is beside me on the sofa! Just for a giggle! Bearing in mind my mobility is still zero so everything is to hand!

The dotty pot literally holds everything! Even my strepsils for my cough! And drinks as you can never have too many fluids! Mmmmm

Threads, fabrics I am using and my sewing box too... I so need a craft room!! Ha ha Oooh do you think Han would move out!  Ha ah nah, oh well maybe one day I will get one?

Hope your all well and happy? Now I am feeling a little better I shall have to pop around your blogs and catch up!

Smiles to you all :)

Could not wait to make it....

Well I was thrilled to receive my subscription copy of Quilt Now in the post today... And ooooooh a freebie to make too!  Pin wheel coasters.... A challenge!! Excellent!!

Here is the magazine... It's issue 15.

I got started straight away... Sorted all the bits and opted to hand stitch.. Well it's was a case of having to hand stitch as I am still not well enough to sit at my sewing machine.

Here is what I did....

Added the backing and filler........ hey presto!! I actually made them! And I think I did a pretty good job seeing as they are hand stitched too.

I found the instructions easy to follow and learnt a lot too.  I mean stitching the squares together wrong side and then cut into 4... Perfect triangles! Awesome! I used a lot of the other freebie gifts from the magazine to help me too, as you can see in my photo.

My mum just popped round and asked me where I bought them from! Ha ha. I to,d her I just made them! She loves them and wants some now! Guess I am going to be busy!!

Onto my next project....

Smiles to you all :)

Something new...

Well hello there!!

I am still not back to normal so been busy doing other craft things other than stitching... I need I lot of concentration for stitching.  So I have been pottering about doing less taxing things!

For some time I have been working on a hexie project... A little quilted throw eventually! Here is what I have been up to with that...

Then a little coffee and cake break!

Did the trick as here is where I am now....

It's growing... Slowly but still growing.

Then Han got me this magazine yesterday...

Something different, maybe?

Kind of liked this... But to go on a pillow/cushion...

Uh huh!! Picked some fabrics.... From stash!

Traced the design... Lol on Greece proof paper... Well it's like tracing paper! Did the job!!

And off I started!!

I was not sure how I was going to stitch the pieces on, as in the magazine they are roughly cut and stitched similar to how I did it.  I did not want rough edges so made each shape.

Well my stitching is not the best, but I kind of like the 'rough' look... I think it adds charm!

And the finished pillow on my sofa!!

I am thrilled with how it turned out... Go me!! Love trying new things and this was a new thing so yipppeee! Ha ha

I hope your all well and keeping busy...lol like me!

Big smiles to you all :)

Little bit of this....

Hello wonderful friends....

Yes a little bit of this...not so much of that! Ha ha

Well what is this little bit I have been doing? Stitching of course!

I have been trying to stitch a little more of the Strawberry Thief by Wilłiam Morris... My HAED ...

This one...

Well I think last time I posted it looked like this..

And now it looks like this...

I have been trying to fill in the little holes here and there... Gosh so many thread changes! All good fun! And incase you cannot picture it, it's upside down! Just easier for me to stitch whilst on my frame!

Being my first HAED I am still feeling overwhelmed everytime I stitch this...but that's normal I guess? As long as I keep adding stitches everything will be fine!

Not a lot of you know...I think?! That I don't eat meat.... Nothing to do with animals, I just don't like the texture in my mouth so don't eat it.  My appetite lately is all over the place with all the pain I have and I wanted to share with you all the latest yummy food I am eating!

Of course it's veg! This one is basically a veg chilli stir fry... Mmmmm

This is something I could eat every day! Gust tossed veg in a wok!  Love courgettes....mmmmm

Yes all very good for me no doubt! And with being not so active again at least I am trying to watch what I eat, and kind of eating healthily.

Still no news regarding my knee... Although Monday afternoon I am off to the hospital in the transport to get an X-ray! Yes another X-ray! Not my chest this time, my coccyx and lower back.  Goodness I have so much pain it's horrendous, just the simplest of movement and it hurts so much.  The doctor wants to see the results of an X-ray... Hmm not really sure how that is going to help me? So still playing the waiting game! My breathing is much better now, thanks to the antibiotics.

I have been thinking of making a list of top 5 things I have on the go.... You know stitching.  Top 5 is good then as I finish one I can replace it with another project.  I thought 5 would be a good number, and an easy rotation.

So here is my top 5 stitches I am currently doing...

1.. This is HAED, The Strawberry Thief by William Morris.

2.. This is The Scarlet Letter design called Mary Gail.

3.. This is a new project just starting... Prairie Schooler design called A Prairie Garden..
All ready to go with this, not actually started yet though.

4.. This is the ongoing Joyful Journal monthly series I am stitching from Heart in Hand.. Here is September...

5.. This is open! Ha ha for quick project I want to do... Something like that! Sometimes I may stitch some patchwork here too?

I made this hoping to morph it into a project bag! Ha ha I say morph as I have no idea how I am going to do that as yet! Ha ha just adding shapes! Ha ah it's fun!

Yes experimenting with lots.... Hmm

I think maybe I lack direction? Jon and I have looked on the Internet for designs to follow, to actually 'make' something... I just don't know where to start!  And what can I make as a newbie? Something that is not too daunting, something that is fun and something that I could actually make from start to finish? If you have the answer, or a good idea message me and I will certainly go check it out!

Jon is such a sweetie, with me being a bit down in the dumps with all the health issues I currently have he wanted to make me smile.... This arrived in the post..

The book is amazing... Shows all the techniques, how to stitch things right! Lol I need that! And the Liberty book is something I saw a friend stitch something out of on Facebook... And jon thought as I have Liberty fabrics.. Why not!... Remember....

Han says I have a problem with fabrics! I think I just like to feel them... Stitching shapes together is fun but hurst my fingers after a while, so it's good to change to cross stitch now and then.  Hand stitching is very rewarding as you see it grow... All my work! Lol

That is what I am currently up to!
Like the title says... A little bit of this .... Ha aha not so much of that lol!

Th k you for popping in to see me :)
Hope your all having a lovely weekend.
Smiles :)
