Looking back... what a year! Goodness 2014 was an AMAZING stitching year!!

Where on earth do I start!?

Well I have had the most amazing time stitching this year.. I have had a great time getting to know other stitchers and bloggers.. and I like to think made some really good friends along the way too.

So I guess I should start with what I have been up to during this year of 2014...

Rather than go month by month I thought I would 'lump' things together, more logical for me!

2014 I think was a year of discovery for me, to try new things and experiment too...

Ok.. so this year I decided to stitch some cards, a first for me!!... I may even stitch more during 2015?!

Another first was to try to crotchet.. hmmm well I gave it a go and failed badly!  Maybe try again in 2015?

I also learnt new finishing skills and picked up some wonderful ideas on how to make and finish ornaments, here are a few I have done this year...

I have also learnt to finish my projects in other ways too.. a lot of fun! Some you will recognize as I sent a 'few' out as gifts..

I have a few more 'firsts' ...
first applique work, first beading work...
First dyeing my own fabric...

I also participated in a few things with others this year,
The Round Robin, this was great fun and I loved every minute of it... there is a tab at the top ROUND ROBIN 2014 if you want to take a look at what I stitched :)

I also participated in Christmas in July which was a lot of fun... what I made...

I mastered my sewing machine after letting it sit in a cupboard for over 4 years!  No stopping me!

A proud moment, when my stitching was featured in Blue Ribbon Designs online magazine :)

Designs I have finished over 2014 but not actually done anything with.  Also part way done projects I need to finish.... naughty me!

This year I sent out a fair few 'smiles' to cheer people up and I loved spreading those smiles ...

This year I also had my very first giveaway, I loved it.. may have to do more!?

And ooooh I have posted out many a parcel this year too...

Something amazing happened when Han encouraged me to open my own Etsy shop... I mean just WOW!!

Apologies if I have duplicated anything.... and if it seems hap hazard.. ha ha that is because it is!! hee hee

I tried to group things, not sure I covered everything I stitched this year, but you get the idea!  Yes its been a rather busy year!! And rather incredible when its set out like this.

I LOVE to stitch and adore all of you out there that love what I do too.. Thank You for being a part of my journey.

I also want to take this opportunity to say a MASSIVE Thank You for all of your warm kindness and generosity shown over the year.  You are all such wonderful people.

As for 2015... I think I will keep better 'files' of what I have done! ha ha a    I dont really have a plan, I just do what makes me happy :)

As for my stitching, I will post an update tomorrow on it as I think your all worn out after looking at all the photo's I posted today!

Huge happy smiles to you all...

I hope you liked my post today :)

xx

  14. Amazing year of stitches. Everything turned out great. And you tried and mastered many new things. Hope you try the crochet again in 2015. I don't think I can ever get that many projects done in a year but it is something to work towards. Happy stitching!

  15. Welp, yes, I am definitely borrowing some of your mojo for 2015, holy cow!! You've had a ton of finishes and a lot of fun with the finishing, too! I wish you a great new year, and if you are still interested in crochet, youtube has tons of tutorials that you can watch over and over (and over... and over.......) again. It really helped me with some of the weirder stitches. :D

  16. Wow, picture heavy!! It's so good to see all the varied things you have stitched and made this year. I think your ornies are a particular triumph. You seem to have the knack for choosing just the right trim and embellishments for a piece. And knowing when to ask your awesome followers for suggestions LOL
