Birthday??

HelΕ‚o happy smiley friends...

Eeeeek!! Yes! I let my birthday float on by! Why? I just simply don't feel that old! Oh I know some of you will say well it's not old! Physically with all my health issues sure I feel a lot older! Ha ha but mentally as Han tells me I am no where near my actual age! Ha ha

And when was this? It was June 21st...... The longest day of the year! I was able to party longer! I say was, as ha ha party seems to of been erased from my vocabulary! 😁

And how old Erm.... Young was I??!!! This says it all......

I enjoyed a happy smiley day with my family... Sadly no cake as I cannot eat it! I am still struggling with all types of food, eating small and often.  All types of dairy is out...I cannot believe what foods have dairy in! Crazy!

Here are some photos from the day...

My mum bought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers with an ornamental cabbage! Ha ha

There is the cabbage!

Jon, he bought me a beautiful bouquet too! How lucky am I!!

Naughty jon also bought me a watch, now I have been looking and looking for a watch I liked for ages.... I need to be able to see it and read it! Yes I am fussy!! Here it is...

He also bought me a new smaller bag and purse to use as sometimes I don't want to take my big handbag out..

The bag in the back ground Han bought me, I love it!! And yes I am Radley Mad!!

Hee hee Kevin bought me this....eeeek! More Radley!

My dad said he would treat me to the bingo! See my dad and I spend time together and go to bingo! We used to do it years ago and want to go regular again! I did get this in the post!... Ha ha

Spoilt! I actually ventured out on my birthday too.... To an Ice cream place in town.  Oh and I could eat some!! They launches a new vegan ice cream that was dairy free too! Oh it was delicious!

Here are some photos from there!

The ice cream!! Mmmmmm

Don't look at my hair! Ha ha in a few more photos you wil see why!

Here I am sat outside with Kevin... Oh and with Bob!!

I had a great day filled with lots of smiles.  One thing I have been meaning to do is sort my hair out! It's been driving me literally crazy...where I put weight on my face shape had changed to blob... Oh I am pleased to say I have lost some kilos now! Yes the visits to the pool is helping 😊 so I am now some kilos lighter and still actively losing weight too.... So my face shape is changing again, I now have my cheek bones back! No idea where they went, I think they went on holiday for a while! Ha ha and now they are back!! So I got my hair cut!

Before being cut it was just about sitting on my shoulders... I needed a new look!

The back....

I thought the hair that was snipped off looked like a sleeping small animal on the floor! I know, I am crazy!

I had it like this a little while ago... The photo I use everywhere of me! Don't know it? This one.... I love it!

I am happy to say this is me and me is returning! My hair now is slightly lighter... I prefer this mousy colour and will like it like this eventually again.

I did something that gave me a rather huge smile today I want to share with you all.... My mum commented on how lovely it was to get two bouquets of flowers.  So me being me what did I do? Went out and bought my mum loads of flowers!! My mums face was a picture when I gave them to her! Ha ha.... Here are the photos of the vases all over her living room! She laughed and said she's just open a florist! Ha ha

Ha ha ! It made her smile!! Me too lol

I saw this and thought it rather apt.... Ha ha for a giggle!!

Something else rather silly I want to share is a photo Han took of me whilst using an app on her phone!  She did it and I almost wet myself from laughing so much! It's a moving hippo face! When I opened my mouth the hippo did! It looked like I had a head of a hippo!

I mean how silly is that! Ha ha

Until I next pop in keep smiling :)
Xxx

I am back.....

Hello wonderful friends 😊

Look at that cheesy grin! I was so excited about this it was taken before it was hung on the wall! More on this if you read down....

I have to say a big thank you to Han for letting you all know about my little adventure! Hmmmmmm

I have lots to share with you all but first I bet you all want to know what happened?!

Tuesday I was not feeling so well and had a few too many loo trips if you know what I mean! Unfortunately I was bleeding an awful lot from hmmmm a place I should not! Jon got straight on the phone and called our Dr, he advised I call an ambulance and go to hospital to be checked out.  It was more of a precaution as I am taking blood thinners as many friends you are aware.  I literally thought nothing of it! The ambulance was called at 6.30 pm Tuesday night and a very nice paramedic man in a fast car turned up! Later as we chatted I found out he was the very same paramedic that came out April 2015 to see me when I was rushed in with blood clots in my lungs! So we chatted and chatted whilst waiting for an ambulance.  The ambulance was classified as none urgent, just that I was a routine call that needed to get to hospital! So we waitied and waited... Until 10.30 pm!!! Seriously a long time! And the whole time the paramedic stayed with me!
At hospital they did some tests and confirmed what I had said! So they then told me I had to be observed and to do that I needed to stay in hospital! No!! But I agreed to stay! I was in real discomfort as my stomach was hurting, so they admitted me and said only to drink water! That really did not bother me as I have no appetite and drinking just 500ml water a day was all I could manage without being ill.
Anyway....cutting a long story short... I stayed in hospital for 4 days and they did numerous tests on me. I am alright now, but for how long is uncertain.  I am waiting to go for more tests and a colonoscopy hmmmm not something I am looking forward to.  Home and taking things easy... They question I have is... Why me and how many more things can go wrong!? Got to keep my sense of humour!! Thank you for all your messages, your all amazing 😊😊😊

So enough of that!!

I have been wanting to share something really exciting with you all for a little while now but had to keep it hush hush! Eeeeeek!! But I can tell you all now!! Lol that's if you all don't know already?!

Ok.... I am doing something I never really ever thought I would be able to do, why you ask? I thought I was not good enough and I thought only professionals did it.  My eyes have been opened and wow! Seriously anyone can do this!! What am I talking about?? Stitching samplers...

For years I have wanted to stitch samplers, yes for myself, but it's been a dream to stitch for a designer. I honestly never thought I would get the chance to, but by some amazing opportunity I have been given that chance!

Eeeeeeeek!!! So I am very excited to say I am now a model stitcher for Hands Across The Sea Samplers... Eeeeeek!! There is actually a link in my side bar if you would like to take a peek at there designs 😊

And what have I been doing? I can show you all now!!

It's a beautiful Bristol Orphanage sampler called Louisa Coulimore..

Here is my journey of this stunning design by Nicola Parkman....

And the back.....

This design took me 3 weeks to stitch using 4o count lakeside linen vintage sand dune and I used 2skeins of Glorianna silk in schoolhouse red.  Oh the colour is beautiful and was a joy to use silk thread!

Then I sent the finished piece to be photographed for the chart... Eeeek!! Something I just could not get around my head at. All! My stitching on the chart!?!

Here it is...

And look!! On the back.... That's me!!!

To be honest the whole experience is exciting beyond belief! I still have a massive smile on my face thinking oh wow! I did that!! Jon and Han think it's brilliant and are very proud of me.

But that's not all!! Eeeek there is more!!!
Not sure how many of you read The Attic Newsletters?  The recent issue is awesome.... But for a very exciting reason!! Here is the link http://www.atticneedlework.com/newsletter.html

Some peeks for you...
This newsletter...

Look on page 14!!!! Yes it's what I stitched!!!

Maybe a little closer on this page too, the little box!

How exciting!! I saw this when I came out of hospital and was so excited I just had to share it with you all!
And ha ha that amazing cheesy grin photo at the top! Well got to be done I guess?! Here it is again just for one more look and maybe chuckle!

And yes!! I am stitching another Hands Across The Sea Sampler now... And you guessed it! It's hush hush until finished! 😁😜

Oooooooh something else to share with you all...

I had a package waiting for me when I got out of hospital... All the way from the USA!! Ooooh I wonder who it could be from?!

Now we all know dear Kim from wisdomwithneedleandthread.blogspot.com is celebrating her 60th birthday in a rather spectacular way!! She is doing something that would give me a big logistical head ache! Kim decided everyone should celebrate with her so is sending out 60 RAKS!! Wow! Came to mind when I read about it!

I am thrilled and excited to tell you all I was chosen as one of the lucky 60!! Eeeek!! And wow!! Look what arrived all the way from USA in one piece!

Oh these are brilliant and will be used!! Simpler wonderful!!
Look!! How special do I feel!! Thank you ever so much Kim for your friendship and kindness xx

Him hand painted the cup and saucer, it's stunning and I will treasure it, thank you so so much.

Well I think I must of worn you all out with all those photos!?
Thank you all so much for popping in to see me and letting me share my exciting news with you all 😊😊😊

Until I next pop in... Keep smiling!! 😊😊😊
On with the stitching!!

Wednesday 15 June 2016

Hi hello.

Hi hey hello.

It's Hannah back again!
Unfortunately not with good news, just a quick update, mum went back into hospital Tuesday evening with stomach cramps and some bleeding, the doctors didn't want to risk anything with her being on blood thinners so they've kept her in for a few days.

She asked me to write a little something so you don't wonder where she is :)
Mum will be back blogging in no time!

Hope you don't mind me popping in :)
Hannah xo

Here you go!

Hello happy smiley friends!

I am so happy to pop in again to share with you some photos... Han finally got around to taking some photos of the pool!

Steps in....lol

Here is the main pool area...

This is what it's pretty much like in the evening when we go, it's lovely! There are no children in in the evenings past 7pm... There is just the odd few people in sometimes popping in after work I guess? This was 10.30 pm I think...

Here I am in the water!! Just got down the steps, takes me ages as it really does hurt... But once in the water it's brilliant. You can just about see the smile on my face!

Here in the water bobbing about with a float.... Again smiling! Lol

It's so nice in the water, there is no pressure on my back and my knee is ok if I remember not to move it any direction other than straight!  I understand this is not a 'flattering' photo!! But this is me! And by using the pool and doing even the little exercise I am doing now... It's a start... So don't look too closely!!

Then the best part! Han wheels me around the corner to the hot tub.... Oh it's lovely!! It's actually huge! I am only sat in one corner! I don't like the big bubbles, it's too much for me, so I sit in the one next to them (where I am) as the bubbles are much gentler. It's hot and so relaxing.

Opposite this hot tub there is a sauna and steam room... I have ventured into the sauna that is so nice, love it in there! But I have found by the time I get out of the hot tub I am very tired and have no energy so at the moment it's one or the other.

Hope you liked my 'pool' photos... I am really enjoying going, it's so tiring... I hope it gets easier soon.

As for other things....

Stitching, yes I am stitching! I assure you I am! I will have something to show you all very very soon, I promise! I am thrilled with it, I hop pe you all like it!! Eeeeeeeek!!

The weather here has been so warm, Han has been trying to get me out the house more, it's been brilliant but really tiring.  Maybe I should schedule a rest day after a day out? I mean just getting dressed is a major effort and something I have not been used to doing for well over 12 months! I lived in PJ's whilst stuck in bed, I am not out of my bed, I am still spending all my time in it, it's my lower back pain that keeps me there.  Sitting upright is still causing me a lot of pain, when I am out in my wheelchair I find I lean forward a lot to relieve pressure. My left knee is the un-repairable one and well yes it's painful most of the time.. Recently my right knee has been causing me pain too.  I think it's due to moving more than I have been? Hey ho! Got to work through it.

Well I am going now as its late and I am really tired, the heat is zapping my energy.

Happy smiles to you all until I next pop in 😊😊

Dennis the menace?

Hello happy smiley friends 😊

Now not sure any of you know who Dennis the Menace is?? Or is that a silly question?

See Han and I both grew up with Dennis, is comic form and annuals... He is well loved in our family!  Now your all wondering why I am telling you this? Good question!!

Today... Being Sunday, Han and Kevin wanted to go to their first Comic Con event, or rather convention! So off we went! Jon and I had no idea what to expect or what we where going to see either!

It was actually quite a good outing as you will see from my photos and if you want to see more you can pop along to Hans blog, link in side bar 😊

So I shall start with Dennis the Menace!! The artists were at there!! I saw their table and the comic and thought no?!? Then asked some questions, and the confirmed they were in fact the artists that draw Dennis!! Crazy for me as I have read Dennis in comics since I was very young! Quite surreal watching the artists draw Dennis in front of us!!

And they both very nicely posed for a photo for Han with her treasured signed Dennis! That will no doubt be framed and have pride of place on her wall!! It's funny because I think Han was as thrilled as I was to meet the artists! She just kept saying they actually draw Dennis the menace! Ha ha yup!!

So we wandered about and came across a lot of people (Joe public) dressed up, it's apparently what you do at these type of events! Lol no one told me! And if they had I have no idea what I would of dressed up as? Hmmmm maybe I should think on that as Han and Kevin want to go to more!!

A few from wandering about....

Quick... By pass this one!!

Kevin. Likes something called Adventure Time? And Hans friend was there too and dressed up.. Cool huh?!

Now not sure if any f you watch or follow the TV program Game Of Thrones?? Not me!! Seriously I. Don't! Han and Kevin do and that was one of the main reasons we went.... To get photos with them and chat to them too. No I apologise as I have no idea who they are! I guess if you want to know go look at Hans blog from the link in my side bar as she has their names! Lol

Have to tell you all something awesome that happened to me whilst there... I went along to one of the tables where the 'stars' are and chatted to someone.  Ha ha I say that as I don't know his name! It's the guy out of Game of Thrones! Han tells me he is the one that does everything! Now that tells me a lot!  I was just chatting away asking random questions and I saw one of his publicity photos... I just came out with it and said that photo was hot! Well it was! Rather I thought he was in that photo! Talking to him he did not look like that! See he had a lot of facial fluff!! He thought it rather funny so gave me the photo to keep! How lucky am I!!

Here it is...

And close up.... Mmmmmmm

And then Kevin went and got her photo with him!! I now recal his character name is Pod? Maybe?! Yes you can see his facial fluff now!

Apparently Han told me this person in Game of Thrones is dead now?! Hmmmm they like him!

That was pretty much our Sunday outing!!

Ooooh yes! Thank you ALL very much for your kind words of encouragement... I have been going to the pool, it's not getting any easier yet! Han promises me that she will take some photos tomorrow when we go I the evening! She just keeps leaving her phone in the locker! It's brilliant and I am loving being in the water. More on that soon!

Stitching....well nothing to show as yet, but maybe some very soon! Promise 😊

Oooooh something else to share with you all... If you are a regular reader of Hans blog you may already know!? I shall tell you all anyway!

For as long as I can remember Han has always wanted a dog, a pug to be precise! And she wanted a boy to call it Lancelot! So recently Han bought one! Now we have a pug puppy in our home! Yipppeee another addition to the household! So I guess you want to see some photos...ok

Lancelot is rather cute!! I think there are more photos on Hans blog if you scroll back a few days!

The last few photos I want to share with you all are the beautiful peonies in our front garden.... They are so pretty, the centres look like tissue paper!

And the last one is of some pretty lobelia that is growing on our ramp into our home...

It's not often I have pretty flowers to show you!

I am sorry this post is so full of photos, I hope you liked them all? And sorry there is no stitching... Soon!!

Until I next pop in, hopefully with some David Lloyd photos!? Happy smiles to you all!!
😊
