Gifted Gorgeousness SAL 2015 .....

 Hello wonderful friends, so much to tell you all....

I am so happy to be here... Literally!! See yesterday whilst using my crutches trying to get out of the living room I lost my balance and fell over, twisting my leg, hmmm yes the already very painful leg!  I have never screamed so much ever,.. And ambulance was called and they took me to hospital.  I was checked out, x-rayed and bandaged up and set home... Yes still in a lot of pain.

This photo is of me when I come back from the hospital around 9pm when I eventually made it into bed to relax..

Did you notice my lovely 'sexy' PJ's?!!  Lol

 So yes...that was my eventful day, and now I am at home and I cannot do anything, I have been told to rest my leg and keep it up.  And because all I can do is rest.. All I will be doing is stitching!!! 

As soon as Jo advertised the Gifted Gorgeousness SAL 2015 I so wanted to join in... To stitch all the lovely things wonderful friends have gifted me. 

Here is my first Gifted Gorgeousness post....

I have completed it, only very recently... This lovely chart was gifted to me from mouse for Christmas :)

I loved stitching it, I made my own handmade clay buttons shaped as coffee beans to go on it!  I am still yet to 'finish' it... Bit difficult at the moment as I cannot get to my sewing machine... One to finish later :)

The next thing I want to show you all is a wonderful project I am almost finished... Yes almost finished!!

I was very kindly gifted all the wonderful threads by Mary Ann.

I am really enjoying this project, and REALLY love the thread colours... I can see the end in sight :)

I do have another wonderful chart I plan to stitch next which was also gifted.. But for now I want to keep that under wraps as I want to concentrate on finishing my sampler :)

I have been doing some more sewing... I am actually loving it.  I feel so free sewing, I can literally do what I want....

I made the hexies and then decided to stitch embellishments onto them...

That is where I am now... Waiting for inspiration! Lol

I do have to say a MASSIVE thank you to Gille.... A while ago as part of the Gifted Gorgeousness SAL 2015 she very kindly gifted me some threads... Of my choice... I was over the moon!!! Jon bought me this great chart last year as I love turtles too!  I used Gilles kind gesture to get all the threads so I can now stitch this!

Keeping busy.....

Hello friends...

Well unfortunately I am still in a lot of pain... Just had the doctor out and appears all I can do is increase the pain medication..oh and learn to live with it!! Arrrrggggghhhhh!!!!!

So here is me living with it! 

Trying so very hard to stay positive and happy...

I have been quite busy on the sofa!  Lol

Here is what I have got up to...

I was lucky enough yesterday to be given a costa coffee...oooh it was nice!

And thank you to the lovely mouse as this chart was gifted to me from her for Christmas :)

So stitched a Lizzie Kate coffee chart... And instead of stitching the coffee beans I made some!  I really love to do things differently...and am quite pleased with the look of this.  I was deciding how to finish this... Maybe a mug warmer... Or a little pillow, ha ha for my future tree! Lol

Oooh yes whilst sitting here trying to keep busy and thinking what to do.... And as I cannot use my sewing machine right now....ha ha can't do much of anything!

I thought I would practice those lovely stitches I have been learning... And wanted some mixed colours to do that on... So sewed some hexes together and will practice on there..

I am so useless... I needed the paper inserts so did that on paper, but could not decide which way was best!  Here is was I did..

Then this...

I love all the sorting and pinning the hexes... It's so much fun and really relaxing to do.

Then it builds up...

I am basically just randomly placing the hexies.... Hoping it looks ok!

Oooh then I made this...

So now I think I am ready to start using it to try all those lovely stitches on.  I am quite excited to see how it will look..

Ooooh yes.... I just tell you all about the little bit of happiness that arrived though my door via delivery man today...

I am so excited that jon won all of this.... How lovely!!! And it looks like Han and I will be smelling wonderful for a while!  Go jon!!!

Some Halloween stitching.....

Hello stitching friends....

Last year I joined the Halloween ornie SAL group ... And sorry I am on my iPad right now so don't know how to post links :(. There is however a quick button down the side bar .. It's the ghost :)

Well as I say I joined last year and thought oooh marvelous, stitching Halloween things.  Here in UK Halloween is not that much of a thing, but I wanted to do it anyway.  Maybe one day to have enough things for a little Halloween tree!  Ha ha yes just like you Frances!!

Here is what I stitched....

It's designed by David Morrill from The Stitchworks and is called "Witchy Lou".  I found it in my digital copy of Just Cross Stitch magazine issue Sept/Oct 2013.

I stitched it on herbal tea stained 18 count Aida, I used DMC threads with orange and black beads.

So that is my witch stitch for January.

Looking ahead, February is skeletons...this could be fun, maybe have to dig out some black fabric to stitch on.

Yes I am on my iPad again ..... I am so rubbish writing my blog on here.  See I cannot sit in my stitching chair due to my knee being so bad and painful.    I am on our sofa, it has a reclining action and means I can put my legs up.  

And as I am not in my stitching chair or corner I feel so lost... Nothing is to hand and I have to keep bothering Han to get or find things for me.  It's a real pain being laid up and not really being able to walk.  I have been taking pain killers today as its so bad... And yes I am fed up beyond belief that this is happening to me.

Enough drivel... Trying to stay positive ....

Ha ha guess what... I hope this post turns out ok.. See I am doing the draft on my iPad and then Han is going to open it on my PC and make all the little adjustments that I cannot.  Oh you know like... The font, the colour... The photo size.. And then hopefully my post will look acceptable!?  Thank you Han :)

I naturally wanted to post more today... Ho hum!  There is always tomorrow!

Something new.....

Hello wonderful friends...

As the wonderful header says,  I am trying something new!! 

I bet your all wondering what and OMG! is she side tracking again!? lol

I cannot take all the credit for this... I actually saw a fellow bloggers post and thought... hmmm that sounds like fun!  It was on Deborah's Bits and Pieces blog if you want to take a look :)

I joined a facebook group called Joyful Embelishments run by Valerie Bothell.  Over the course of 2015 the aim is for her to post 5 new stitches every week.  Then come the end of the year there will be a total of 260 new stitches to use!! WOW!!!

I had an idea to make a booklet.. with all those stitches I am going to have to do it by month.  So for the month of January I have started my booklet and done the first 5 stitches.  I am really pleased with what I have done... considering I have never done anything like this before.

Also the idea of the booklet was purely for my memory sake I think.. you all know with my learning difficulties I do and have forgotten things.  I thought this would be the simplest way to 'keep' all this new information.  And I can refer to it at any stage.

Here are my first  stitches.... oh yes they are stitched on a square of beige linen... which was actually some new linen cloth napkins my my acquired many years ago.. I cut each one into 4 and used each quarter to stitch my design on.  I am using cross stitch threads and beads I already have.

As I had a great time putting it all together and now cannot wait for the next weeks stitches!

Oh dont worry I will be cross stitching too!!  I have so much time on my hands right now I thought why not!!

Bee Happy....

Hello happy friends...

I have been trying to slow down today... actually had no choice as I had a pretty restless night.  All due to my arthritis flaring up in my left knee... its really quite bad and luckily we have crutches in our home so I am hobbling about on them.  

I know really bad.. I just want to get back to 'normal' ...what ever that is!?

Oh that's right... healthy and well again!  

Ok... so if I rest and take things easy, or easier I should start to get well again, you would like to think so ...right?  Promise to take things easy.. :)

As you can see from the top of this post bee's are the theme today!

I wanted to stitch a little something for Han... she likes bees... lol she got one tattooed on her!! So I stitched a little something for her to hang on her mirror in her bedroom.

Here is the 'bee' I stitched for her... its a Prairie Schooler design.  I stitched it on 28 count sage green linen using DMC threads 1 over 1 with a gold bead hanging loop.

That is the bee!!

I wanted a little quirky bee for the back so just altered the chart a little.

Han loves it, and its now in her bedroom!

I enjoyed my stitching today, I hope your all having fun making what ever your doing too?

I cannot believe that before we know it, it will be February!! Oh my!! And that means Valentines Day.  I have never really made anything for this day before.. Oh yes there are plenty of wonderful things out there to do.  Its just, well..... not sure as I have never made anything for my husband before.

How do you all feel about this? It it me being rather odd?

Oh my then its Easter!! lol ha ha  I love stitching happy easter things :)

What do you like to stitch? Yes...curious!
