Poor jon....

Omg!! Where do I start....
Maybe...it's starting to look like Christmas here in our home?? Kind of...

Yes a little snippet of our tree....

I was not going to bother this year with a tree, Han persuaded me to put it up! Well... I did not put it up, Han did with me supervising! Ha ha this year as you all know has been a total nightmare, so I am not really feeling festive..

Here is our little tree...

Nope!! Sorry I am useless at photos!!

Maybe this one...

Ha ha that's hans arm! She was sampling chocolates! These chocolates...

Naughty! Han dislikes Cadbury chocolate so sampled the nestle quality street... And disliked them too! Lol Han giving me the chocolate after she has tKen a note from it!! Ha ha

It's ok though as jon loves chocolate!! Hmm poor jon... Let me tell you all what's gone on..

Well on Tuesday we had a shopping delivery and jon realised he had not ordered coffee...he loves his coffee! So jon being jon said he would go and get some! Well this statement shocked me!! See jon has not gone out by himself in over 5 years, since before his accident.  He is now a wheelchair user and is not that good at self propelling either.  But he made his mind up and said he was getting coffee and would see me later!! I could not do anything... See the last few days I have been in so much pain, just moving about is terrible, so I said ok see you in a bit!

I was thinking he would get to maybe the top of the road and turn around and come home as he does not have the strength to move himself about much.  Not only that, jon does not know the area we live in and knows no one too.  And he did not take my phone with him... Hmm

Well Han and I started to get worried after a few hours...he left the house at 10.45 am and we watched the hours tick by... 4, 5, 6, 7... I rang my parents and told them.  By this time I was in a right state... My parents jumped in their car and started to search the street.  It was dark, cold and raining.

My parents came back to my home, no sign of jon.... So my mum told me to call the police.  I called the police and logged a missing persons report.  The police were ever so nice, asked me loads of questions and Han emailed them photos of jon.  The time was almost 9pm now and the police assured me they were dealing with it as a priority.  Then around 11 pm there was a knock at the door, the inspector of our area come to talk to me, he said he had every available officer out looking for jon and had circulated his photo everywhere...even to ambulance crews. He said they would check in every 2 hours... I had to wait.  I was so upset, it's such a worrying time, I had no clue where jon could be or where he could of gone?

Then around 1 am the police informed me that they were getting the helichopter as they would be able to see heat sources in the dark.  It's an awful feeling not knowing where he was... I was hopeful the helicopter may find him. Then a knock on the door... The inspector said a man in a wheelchair had been spotted by an ambulance crew... Whilst he was in my home we heard on his radio that it was jon and he had been taken to hospital.

PHEW!!! Found and now in good hands.

I was in no state to drive and could not with all the pain I was in... So my parents rushed down the hospital.  At around 3 am they called me to say jon was being treated for hypothermia and exhaustion... They stayed there with him until 6 am when he was admitted to the emergency ward... And this evening is Thursday and jon is still in hospital.  My parents went to see him today and he is in good spirits, eating ... And recovering well... So fingers crossed he will be discharged tomorrow.

I don't know if any of you have been in a situation like this,,.. Let me tell you it's just awful, I think I must of developed at least half a head of grey/silver hair now from worry! I am just thankful he is ok and recovering.

All praise to jon wanting to go out... But I think I will insist he takes a phone with him next time! And I don't know yet whether he got the coffee or not?

As you can appreciate I have done no stitching....

But I did open mail!!!......

Let me show you what arrived in the post... Han put it at the top of our Christmas tree... A beautiful angel... From Gaynor (stitchers anon designs) how lovely.... We adore it, thank you :)

Let's hope that is all we go through this year!! Our family never has a dull moment!

Thank you for popping in..

Big smiles to you all :)

Nothing to do but stitch!

Well hello there!!
Lovely that you have popped in to see me! ..... Thank you :)

I have had a funny few days since my last post, well when I say funny I don't actually me ha ha funny! Ok...odd is a better word!!

As you all know Han and Caterina went to Cardiff to watch Alt-J and stayed over.... That was fine they enjoyed the concert and the hotel.  Omg! The next day, the day they had to travel back was Erm..... Interesting! Ha ha

I was in bed, as in the afternoon I was feeling a little poorly... Han phoned to say the bus, the bus they were getting back to London had driven straight passed them!!! Eeeeeeeeek!! Well I was in a right flap! Han poor Han was in a right state too... Caterina had to calm Han down as she was having panic attacks.  Not because she was stranded, no... Because something happened that was not on the plan of events! Cutting a long story short... They both managed to get a train to London.  They managed to beat the bus they should of been on back!! Ha ha not funny, should not laugh!  Hmm so they then boarded the bus and mad it back home here just around midnight! A long long day!  Han and Caterina said when they go somewhere again they will have a back up plan...just in case!

Some photos of their epic time away...

The concert...

The hotel breakfast trolly! As you do!

And the amazing breakfast, so I am told! They literally tried everything on the menu! Ha ha got to giggle!

And omg! The taxi queue when they made it back to our town...

All fun and games! Pleased they got back safe :)

So well.... I am not doing so good, my stomach is playing up.... Eating and holding in food is a challenge again. I have lost weight without even trying!

As you all know I am lacking major nutrients, calcium, proteins, vitamin D and iron..can't hold the medicines in so my priority is to eat!! Eat whatever I can get in!! And hope it stays!

I love vegetables... So thought sprouts would be good?? Mmm oh I know some will look at this and cringe! But they are really good for you!

I managed a few...

And as I am layer up again I am stitching more than ever.. It's keeping me sane!

The wonderful Scarlet Letter, Mary Gail design is moving along nicely :). I would update the bar at the top but have not figured out how to do it on my iPad! Technology!

So this is where I was...

Then stitched the outline of the leaves...

Then just carried on...

This is where I am right now....

And the back..

I simply adore the back...I cannot get over how much it looks like the front! Hmm well duh! No but do you know what I mean? This whole project I am awfully proud of :)

So that is that! Ha ha

Thank you again for popping in and leaving a comment, I love reading them and thank you for keeping me sane!

I see a lot of you have received my happy envelopes... Still a few more to reach their destinations... Oh this is so much fun!!

Big smiles :)

All alone... Ha ha

Hello wonderful happy friends :)

Yes jon and I are all alone! Han is off galavanting !! Oh she and Caterina(Kevin) left when it was dark! Ha ha yes up and out at 7 am!! They caught the National Express coach/bus to London then changed buses there and got on a bus to Cardiff!! What a trek!! The bus had wifi so they both have been chatting to me the whole way!

Photo.... Ha ha on bus!

Then they arrived and the first photo Han sent me was this....

I am so very jealous!! Seriously!! A schnell imbiss!?? Ha ha well some of you know I grew up and lived an awful lot of years in Germany... I love everything about the country, and the schnell imbiss! Take away/fast food to others! And mmmmmm bratwurst!! Omg!! So no doubt Han will send more photos of her 'sampling' the bratwurst!

Are you all wondering why they have gone to cardiff?? Hee hee well they booked tickets months ago to see a band called Alt-J... Not Erm... My thing! They like it so decided to go! And yes they are staying overnight in a town centre hotel... On the 10th floor!! Eeeeek!! Han skyped me and showed me the view from the window...looks really pretty, so no doubt more photos to come! Hope they have a lovely time :)

And so... Jon and I are all alone! In a very very quiet house! It's awesome as we can watch what we like on TV!! Ha ha Han usually claims the TV to play play station!

So wondering what I have been up to??
Well I am so happy!! Seriously happy as some of my happy packages have reached their destinations.. How awesome!! Still a lot more on their way!! This is so much fun! I am planning now what to do for next year!!

Do these look familiar...

It was a lot of fun to do.... And the fun continues because know one knows who has got one! Hee hee

I have been trying to stitch more of the wonderful Scarlet Letter, Mary Gail.

Here is where I left it...

I did think I would go along the bottom but decided to start the right side... Ha ha just like me!

Not sure what is going on with this photo? You can see a blur of colour in the top right... If you squint maybe??!!

Maybe a little closer...

Ah yes!! There it is!! Yes I have done some leaves! The outline... This has taken me forever! My concentration level is none existent and I am just so slow right now.  But must not grumble as some progress is better than no progress!

I tell you I am losing the plot!! Not sure if I showed you all the reverse side of my Mary Gail? I am super excited about this!! Probably the neatest one I have ever done!! Oh the reverse side does not usual get shown to anyone, but this whole project Mary Gail is my biggest challenge to date.. Not size wise, design wise! Stitching on 45 count linen!!

I cannot really express on paper how much I am enjoying this design, it really is such a joy to stitch.. I will most certainly cry when I complete it!

So what else has gone on...

Hmmmm...

Well I am not very well, I know you all know I have had the year from hell health wise.. Well on top of my knee, back, coccyx and lungs I now have to deal with low levels.  They took 2 lots of bloods off me and rare coming back next week to take more!! I call the blood people Dracula! Ha ha

So yes... The results showed I have extremely low levels of... Iron, calcium, protein and vitamin D.  I am feeling exhausted with the slightest of movement and everything is taking longer to do.. Just so very tired.  The doctor gave me some iron liquid as I was having issues taking the tablets...

This stuff... Look at the colour!

The box says chocolate mint! I think not!! And well I have taken one dose of it and it's not liking me so stopped taking it.  It's ok... The doctor came out to visit me today and is very aware of what is going on.

The vitamin D tablets I have to take, x4 a day!  Well at least they are a pretty colour!

Funnily enough they are the same ones Han has to take! Again after one dose of these my body does not like them either! A some point I think it was March time whilst in my local hospital I caught a horrendous bug that affected me really badly.  I was sick and really poorly... Put in another hospital as I would not go back there and they made me well enough to go home.  But since that episode my stomach has not been the same at all.  I lost almost 3 stone last time... And I am afraid to say I am heading the same way again.  See nothing is staying in, and I am just feeling so very poorly all the time.  Bland food is all I had been eating as my stomach just go could not handle it.  Thank goodness though, now the doctor har referred me back to the nice hospital to see some stomach specialists...ha ha I joke as its another waiting list I am on! I tell you it's a joke, all my current health issues are all from my knee being out of action! I was fine before that.

Talking of my knee... I went for my knee brace fitting, all went well and measured up fine.  There was one surprise though, I had to leave my shoe! So I went home with one shoe! It was rather funny, bless Han she did offer to loan me her boot! Yes we are the same size shoe so that helped! I let her keep her boot! So will hopefully hear about that in the new year... It's got to be specially made!!

One last happy ypthing to tell you all about!! Eeeeeeeek!! It's awesome!! Remember I told you all I was chosen on Lynette Andersons blog to win her new charm pack!??

Well it's arrived!! So quickly I might add!! And all the way from Austrailia :)

How pretty is this....

Close ups... I also won a pretty bag too....

Look at this pretty fabric...

Just a little selection.... It's adorable and I love it!!

Eek look!!!

So very pretty... I LOVE IT!!!

And to decide what to make it into...nth inking, oh I have lots of inspiration as I have a few of Lynettes books! Watch this space as they say!

Ok well I have taken enough of your precious time up! Thank you so much for popping in, always really lovely to read your comments, thank you :)

Big big happy smiles :)

Stitching...

Hello happy wonderful friends...

I totally forgot in my last post to wish all my friends across the pond a Happy Thanksgiving.... I hope you all had a turkey stuffed day! Such a shame we don't celebrate it here in England it seems like a fun tradition.  I guess it's a bit like Christmas here... The turkey I mean! Turkey and all the trimmings is Christmas dinner here.  Ha ha not that I eat it! I really have no idea what I am going to eat this year for Christmas? Last year I was just about eating salmon so ate that.  I don't do meat, that is why I don't eat turkey.  This year I have gone totally off everything... A bowl of baked beans at this rate! Lol ha ha yes yes I will post a photo! Ha ha no doubt you'll all laugh!

Over the last few weeks on and off I have been trying to stitch the blue flower in my Scarlet Letter Mary Gail design.  It's been frustrating me no end... I stitch a bit, checked the chart and OMG! Frog and frog! This is what I have been doing for weeks now! Must of stitched the blue flower several times I think! I tried to stick with it, when I lost my glasses ha ha that was the perfect time to throw the towel in and quit.  But then I found my glasses! So thought ok... One last try... And I am pleased to say I actually finished it!! The blue flower that is!!

Here is where I was...

Then....

I am so pleased I stuck with it :)

I still have an awful lot to do with this design... If you have not seen the design, this is what ha ha it will look like!

So next I am moving over to the lady side, starting with that green leaf above her head.... Then down the side.  Every time I pick this design up I feel like shouting WOW! Ha ha just because it amazes me that I am stitching it! I bet that sounds silly?

Something else awesome to share with you all... I made jon search the Internet for some time now looking for a free motion quilting foot for my sewing machine!  I have seen so many quilters make lovely patterns on their work I wanted to join in!! Ha ha like I would be able to do it??!! Ha ha

Well the foot arrived and I jumped on my machine...

Yes got carried away! It's so much fun....

I loved it! Sadly had to get off my machine as my poor back and coccyx could only with stand about 10 minutes at a time.  So I will have to plan it next time, 10 minute slots with breaks in between!

Oooh yes been quite productive!! Stitched the cute adorable design up I was selected for on FSNI... This remember?

Here it is....

It was actually a really sweet project and I enjoyed it a lot... Jon has been trying to get on the website where is come from to see if there are any others similar to this? Ooh that would be cool... I mean a little village?

I was kind of experimenting with it... Played all day! Lol

No idea what look I was after, no idea what I was trying to do either?! Playing like I say!

I should really take some classes or something to learn skills properly? I am a hands on kind of learner, a bit difficult when I am not getting out much! But it's top of list of things to do when I am better! So self taught will have to do! Saying that though, I am open and welcome to receive advice and tips... Oh yes!! Anytime!!

I cut the squares then did triangles, arranged them in this sort of pattern! Then stitched them onto the adorable design.  Added some wadding or filling or something, not actually sure what it's called! Made a fabric sandwich and then played free motion on my sewing machine! Oh no pattern there either!! Just a whole lot of squiggles and loops!  I was thinking of adding binding .. Still deciding!  And I asked myself the sensible question.... What is it? Ha ha don't know! It is what it is! A sample play piece that was a lot of fun to make!

Lastly I wanted to show you all the frozen pie Han pulled out the freezer! It was so sad she said... I saw it and burst out laughing!  She said it's sad as it we left in the freezer and wants to be eaten! So she cooked and ate it!

Oh yes!! Ha ha I have not forgotten I have left you all hanging regarding my AWESOME news! Ha ha sorry you will all have to wait a little longer!

Ooooh and eeeeek!!! I see some of my happy packages have reached destinations! How awesome! I am so pleased I had the chance to be able to do that... Made me feel ever so happy sending them all out.  And again... I am so sorry if you have not got one of my happy packages, as you can appreciate I cannot send them to everyone... There is always next time though! It was a joy and my pleasure to to do it :)

Until my next post....

BIG smiles to you all :) xxx
