How exciting!!

Hello friends...

Omg!! Today my dad took me to the hospital to collect my leg brace... The brace we have been waiting months for!!

I was so excited as I was hoping it would help me move about a bit more, whilst the doctors decide what to do with me!  It's a rigid brace to stop my leg giving way under me when walking with crutches.  And as my leg does not actually go straight it's to encourage that too.

The consultant was very nice, when he brought it out I instantly thought oooooh looks like I am off to play cricket!! Ha ha you'll see what I mean from the photo! Apparently this is the prototype I have to see f I get on with it for 3-4 weeks and if so they custom make me a special caliper leg brace that will bed at the knee when required... Oooh I thought!!

So here I am relaxing on the sofa with my prototype (cricket! Ha ha) brace!

It has metal rods in it, well not metal but something like it... Han says it looks like a corset on my leg! Ha ha. I don't care!

I have been relaxing a little while now and it feels wonderful, having the brace on with my trousers it's generating heat no ooooh it feels nice!  Not sure how long I am going to leave it on for, the consultant says as long as I like!

I am happy as finally I have received some help!!  Not that it's going to help my knee get better, nothing will... I need a new knee! But this will help me manage the pain and be a bit more comfortable I hope.

So yipppppeeee!!!

Smiles to you all :)

Look what I made....

Hello wonderful friends....

I have been trying to keep busy, ha ha whilst not moving much!

I have been working on the Satsuma Street design called Summers Flight....

Here is my journey..

Then I thought I could stitch some pieces of coloured fabric together for the back... By hand naturally as thee is no hope of getting any where near my sewing machine right now!

Colours I thought would go...

Stitched them by hand...

Then ironed them...

Stitched it together, slightly larger than the one the designer made...

Front...

Back...

The one the designer made...

I must admit it looks wonderful on linen... I may try another one on linen...ha ha when I can use my sewing machine.

I am happy with my attempt, it's good to try new things. As they say I have room for improvement!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Smiles to you all :)

Keeping busy...

Hello friends, just wanted to pop in and let you all know I am doing ok.  After another episode with my breathing I went to my local hospital last night.  It's not somewhere I willing go to as I really dislike the hospital... Han came with me and I got checked out.  I am covered in bruises from the attempted try's to get blood out of me! The outcome was the antibiotics where causing the breathing problems so I am now on another one! I left A&E at 5.30am!! Ha ha I am hopeful that this new antibiotic will work fine...time will tell!

I am still so very tired and worn out... But keeping busy stitching!

I stitched a Notforgotten Farm design called Jack Sprat..

I think him rather cute... He will have to wait to be finished as I really cannot sit at my sewing machine right now.  Omg! The pile of finishing things is growing! Ha ha

And now I am stitching something really colourful, to help lift my spirits and mood :). It's a Satsumastreet design called Summers Flight.

Look at all the lovely colours... And yes I opted for a nice green fabric :)

Here is where I am now,...

I also managed to stitch a little more of my Scarlet Letter design, Mary Gail... Not a lot... A little..

It's coming together really nicely, I am loving the colours.

It's taking a lot of concentration so only managing a few stitches here and there... Better than none I guess.

And a while ago I started to stitch hexies...

Thought I would do something with them...

But had to stop as my finger was hurting!! Will work more little bit at a time I think.

So that's it in a nut shell!

Smiles to you all :) xxx

So fed up....

Hello wonderful friends... Oh I am not fed up with you!! No no no!! You all are keeping me sane!

Must tell you all what's been going on here...

Tuesday I woke not really feeling myself, I could tell within myself something was not quite right... But could not put my finger on it.  Jon called the doctors to get him to visit us at home... Oh that is normal they come out to visit us.  Bearing in mind he was calling before 9am... The doctor returned his call at 3.30 and said no one can come out for a few days!! By this point I had deteriorated and was having breathing issues everytime I moved...and felt like a pile of books were sitting on my chest. So jon called 111 a telephone service where you can talk to health care professionals for help.  They faxed our surgery and told jon to call back telling them I must see a doctor today!  The doctor called back  and was not happy as you can imagine! He agreed to come out and see me... He turned up at 6.30.

He examined me, listened to my chest and could see I was not well.  He called the hospital for advice and they agreed to see me.  But not until the morning as there were no beds if I needed to be admitted.  But said if I got worse to call 999 and go to hospital....my local one.  The one I was booked into is not local its about 1 hour drive away, I prefer to use that hospital as my local hospital is awful. The doctor was just plan awful, telling me he would rather be sitting by a pool and not working and was fed up with it all.  Oh he made it clear he was not happy about coming out.

I went to bed early as was feeling awful, and anything I did movement wise just left me out of breath.  I did not get much sleep but did rest a little.  The ambulance picked me up and I was in the hospital by 9.  The staff were wonderful, they could see I was frightened as I did not know what was going on with me.  I was thinking it could be more clots back in my lungs, that is what it felt like.  But how could it be as I was taking fragmin injections to stop clots!

They stuck a cannula in me, took a lot of bloods, sent me for a chest x Ray and waited the outcome.  They were waiting to see what the specialist said as I might of needed to have the dye for a special ct scan of my chest again.

Poor me!

The results came back after a long long wait, as they checked all the blood markers for problems with my heart too.  My bloods were ok and board line in some cases... But they know what they are doing!

My X-ray showed I had developed more large clots in both lungs and pneumonia, the doctor says my lungs were crackling when he listened.  No wonder i was feeling worn out and tired!

Thankfully the doctors told me all I had to do was take a 5 day course of antibiotics, and they should help with my breathing.  I should see a difference by day 3 and much better after 5... But if I don't get any better I am to go back to the hospital.  So yipppeee after a long day I was able to go home!!

The doctor explained its normal to feel the way I was, so tired and with coughing as its my lungs trying to fight the infection and clots at the same time.  I am to have more tests when feeling better as the amount I have had now is rediculas.  The clots are all from being immobile because of my knee!! And it's going to be a long recovery due to what has been going on with me.

No news about my knee, just that next Tuesday I go to get my leg brace fitted.  Not sure how it will help, just support I guess? It's to keep my leg straight, be rather interesting as my leg does not go straight! Ha ah

So I am home...ha ha for now! Not really doing much at all as I just can't... Even moving my arms in my chair is getting me out of breath! So sitting still.... Yes trying to get a few stitches in!!

I was thinking about the lovely HAED I am doing, you know William Morris Strawberry Thief... Well I was looking at my books and look what I found!!

This book..

Inside....

And the back...

How wonderful!! Had not even realised!!!

And before everything went pair shaped before the 1 St September I did manage to stitch the wonderful design from Joyful Journal series from Heart in hand.

He is rather cute!
Think if I stitch him again one day I may do it on a lighter, maybe cream fabric...

Stitching has become slower... But still hanging in there.

Just wanted to update you all with how I was doing... Not good but I am still here!

Thanks for sticking with me :)

Jon is back!! Yippppppeeee

Hello happy friends :)
I am happy today as jon is back home.... Yes back from his week assessment at the hospital.  We will now wait for the report, but we know the outcome already!  I think I already mentioned... He is now on a long long road of recovery they think 10-15 years to help improve him.  We shall see!  But he is back home and happy... Just like me! Lol I did miss him... Pleased he is home now.

Well I have been trying to do some stitching... Yes I have done some!

Working on The Scarlet Letter Mary Gail, stitching on 45 count fabric with DMC threads.

I really like the way this is coming together, and now Oooh moving onto flowers :). I still am quite shocked I am stitching this, I am stitching this!! Wow!! Ha ha

I missed the link up, because I am actually useless... For the Gifted Gorgeousness sal (link in margin) but I should mention this one, the scarlet letter design the chart (on loan!) and fabric was gifted to me and the Strawberry Theif (sorry Jo I can never remember which way the I and e go for the spelling of this word! Ha ha darn dyslexia) was gifted to me too. I am so happy that people gift me things, it's so very kind and thoughtful and I cannot thank them enough.  It's wonderful as I get to stitch things I simply cannot afford or would never get a chance to.

Here is the Strawberry Theif (thief) lol ... Update....

Close up.... Yes I am rubbish at taking photos!

For me this is the biggest project and my first Haed I have ever done.... It's very daunting.  And does not look like a lot, but in that tiny bit there are loads of stitches! And yes... Incase you think I have lost the plot I am stitching it upside down! Ha ha it's because I put it on the large frame and it's too far away the right way up! I cannot sit on the edge of the chair, still hurts my coccyx and knee so for now I am stitching it upside down! It's not like yo can tell from the design! Ha ha

My health has unfortunately got in the way of something that I love to do... Yes blogging.  I have made so many lovely friends over the time I have been blogging, I am sorry this year I have been a rubbish blogger.  I do hope things will improve and I update more, I really like to!  My health is just so unpredictable from day to day, this is what annoys me.  I will never just stop blogging so don't fear I am not going anywhere! If I get rushed off somewhere I will get Han to post an update... Oh yes Han... Check out her link in my margin, some photos from London when she went recently.  Blogging and stitching keeps me sane! Lol

Ok so I am going now as I need to stitch more! Ha ha
Smiles to you all :)
